Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), founded in 1951, is the national voluntary welfare organisation for the visually handicapped and provides a comprehensive rehabilitation and after-care services. SAVH is affiliated to the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and is an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC).
SAVH serves Singapore citizens and permanent residents who must be certified blind or with low vision by an eye specialist or ophthalmologist. This includes people who are born blind as well as those who have lost their vision through accidents, illnesses or ageing.
